I took a bazillion photos during my time with the Renegades, especially after cellphones and digital cameras accidentally became the same thing.
These photos are from 2005, which is right at the point when cellphone cameras were “not quite” beginning to be able to take decent photos. So, while the image quality is very 2005, I hope you enjoy these happy and chaotic memories from the San Francisco Renegades.
And we begin
PORTRAITS IN CHAOS, EPISODE 1 — 2005 HORN PLAYERS.
We’ll start Episode 1, portrait #1, with one of the most chaotic Renegades of all time, Rich Skare. Rich lived like a rock star, every day, all day.
Contestant #2, Soccer fan and Renegade, Anthony Mineer!!!
Mellophone Mike Betram. Marched in the coolest years of SCV.
Stephen Proud. The Mayor of Treasure Island.
FUN FACT: Has the strength of seven men, once caused the entire Bushwackers drum and bugle corps to flee into the forests of Scranton.
This is Ben. Before becoming the spiritual leader of the Renegades cymbal line, Ben was in the horn line, where he shaved more often.
Ben had many friends in 2005 too.
Lynn goes berserk in the hallway of the hotel at DCA. Proof.
And finally, contestant #7 — Lolita, who played in the evil baritone line in 2005.
AKA this is how you walk around DCA and stun your enemies. :)
This concludes Episode 1 of Portraits in Chaos.
All in fun!
